On Friday, July 9, 2021, Tupelo police detectives arrested 35-year-old Martin Candelario Alcala of Walls, Mississippi for burglary of a commercial building.  The initial incident happened on July 7, 2021. On that day, Alcala stole approximately $15,000 dollars in tools and equipment from a construction site on Parkgate Extended. The investigation into that theft led officers to arrest Alcala just two days later.
