The League of Chicago Theatres has awarded the 2023 Samuel G. Roberson Jr. Resident Fellowship to artist/activist Tonika Lewis Johnson and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble to collaborate on The Folded Map Project.
Good news theater lovers, the League of Chicago Theatres has extended Chicago Theatre Week 2023 through March 5. That means an additional seven days to check out top-notch suburban and Chicago productions for less than $30 per ticket.
Record ticket sales to date for Chicago Theatre Week 2023 suggest that things may be looking up for suburban and city theaters still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic fallout.
Throughout Black History Month this February, many Chicago theatres will present productions honoring the Black experience featuring Black theatres and theatre-makers.
