Have been innonedated by the most water in a long time. Some folks have already left. Many have stayed taking a cautious wait and see approach. Some stranded folks are hoping that flooded out roads will eventually recede, giving them access to and from their homes on higher ground. Definitely something you prepare for, but i think the scope of this storm is definitely something that people didnt plan for even in their preplanning for the storm. The only reason why im chilling is because im a three time flood victim. I was laying there doing nothing while everyone is moving. Even my next door neighbor, everybody is gone, but me. Its looks a lot deeper and it doesnt look like it will recede. In 2014 when the tides receded, you had access into your house, but it doesnt look like that this year. Now though many of the houses will take on some water. In most cases, they wont be badly damaged. The federal Flood Insurance program said if you dont raise your house above the flood level, then were not going to insure it. Thats not to say there wont be any damage, but more minimal than you would have imagined 20 years ago when these were regular floods doing all kinds of damage all the time. You got used to the sunshine and then suddenly it was raining. We still have that same pattern over the bay area right now. And its 53 degrees with cloudy skies in the trivalley as you step out the door its also 53 degrees in the north bay and in, heading into today. Highs reaching into the upper 60 in the trivalley and the peninsula. 70 in the south bay. Not bad. It will get warmer as we head toward the weekend, as all of the rain will die out. Ill have details on that in eight minutes. Vianey is tracking a major slowdown for parts of it bay. The biggest slowdown is on the toll road. Thats eastbound and westbound 80. Right now, also seeing slowing in morgan hill. Northbound 101, it appears to just be a fender bender, but its just enough to have the cars backing up and it looks like the southbound side is also seeing slowing, and thats because people typically tend to look over. The drive times right now, trivalley drive times, were reporting that accident. We have been reporting it al
