We have today three navajo code talkers of world war ii. One is 97 years old, a veteran of world war ii. His Landing Craft blown up, and had to swim to the beach to survive. ,he got shot up real badly survived one year in naval hospital. , also one of the code talkers who were on iwo jima, a tough battle. Three Marine Divisions landed on iwo. It was part of it the code talkers within the fifth Marine Division. Corps was notne enough, he enlisted in the United States army, served in the korean war, survived that awful battle. My name is peter mcdonald. I am the president of the 13 surviving navajo code talkers. I went in. I am 90 years old. I went in when i was 15 years old in 1944 and was with the st marine date on guam first marine brigade on guam and then went on to north china with six Marine Division to get those
