A pair of eco-conscious siblings are going the extra mile to look after the environment.
Matthew and Grace Shannon have taken to the roads around their home in Annacurra to carry out litter picks. The Annacurra NS pupils decided to do their bit for the local environment after noticing an increase in litter while out on walks.
Proud mum Marguerite Shannon said eight-year-old Matthew suggested picking up rubbish on the road following a walk near their home. Sister Grace (11) also joined in.
Matthew is a second class pupil in Annacurra NS while Grace is in sixth class. So far, they have picked up over eight large black bags of rubbish.
