Police: Thief leaves ID behind, gets nabbed
According to the warrants for arrest:
In May 2020 Wichita Falls Police were sent to the Walmart on Lawrence Road for a theft report.
The loss prevention officer told them the suspect went to a self-checkout and paid for one item but carried the other items a hat, shorts and a suitcase into the bathroom. He put the clothing on and left without paying.
Police reviewed the video which confirmed the loss prevention officer’s story. After going to the restroom and putting on the stolen items, the video shows the man leaving the bathroom toting a rolling suitcase. With the use of jail photos, police were able to identify their suspect as Cody Huston. He also left his wallet and ID in the bathroom. A warrant was issued and Huston was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of property theft.
