the border, and what could be the first big legislative action and fight of 2013. just a week after the president s second term inauguration, a consensus over immigration has developed at an unusual speed. the president is due to roll out his own immigration overhaul tuesday in las vegas, but this afternoon a bipartisan group of senators unveiled the framework for a major reform bill, including a pathway to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants. we still have a long way to go, but this bipartisan blueprint is a major break through. we cannot continue as a nation with 11 million people residing in the shadows. and we have to address the issue. and it has to be done in a bipartisan fashion. notably, this appears to be the very first time senator john mccain has signed onto one of the president s legislative priorities, and you may be surprised to learn that republicans have made this sudden shift from previous immigration proposals such as herman cain s electrifie
