20 more Lower Mainland businesses ordered to close due to coronavirus transmission

VANCOUVER Twenty more Lower Mainland workplaces have been ordered to close over the last 10 days because of likely COVID-19 transmission between employees. Most of the businesses in question are located in the Fraser Health region, which has long been the epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic in B.C. A total of 20 businesses in the Lower Mainland, operating out of 21 locations, have been ordered to temporarily close since April 28, according to lists on the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health websites.  Fraser Health also recently announced public exposures to COVID-19 at two barber shops operating under the same name, one in Surrey and one in Burnaby.

Coronavirus exposure warning issued for Surrey barbershop

Fraser Health is warning the public of a recent coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure at a barbershop in Surrey. The exposures took place at the Man Cave Barber Shop over May 1 and 2 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day inside the City Central shopping mall location. Last month, another Man Cave Barber Shop at the Metropolis at Metrotown mall in Burnaby was listed for exposures on April 18, 20 and 30 also between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day. Fraser Health has a running list of locations that have been identified for possible exposure to COVID-19 and while the health authority states being inside one of these locations during the exposure times doesn’t mean you will contract the virus, you should self-monitor for symptoms.
