Shiffrin plans to enter the team event, which would mean she'd compete in all six Alpine races this year. Of course, starting the events hasn't been the issue. She's failed to finish three of them.

BEIJING (AP) The Germans remain right at home on China’s Olympic sliding track. Winners of gold medals in seven of the eight sliding events so far at the Beijing Games, Germany has put itself in prime position to add more hardware to its record-setting total holding down the top two spots at the midway point of the women’s bobsled competition Friday night.
<p>A frustrating Olympics for Mikaela Shiffrin sees her get one more shot at a medal in the mixed team parallel slalom competition. Shiffrin, who has two individual golds and a silver from the past two Winter Olympics, had three "did not finishes" and no medals in her five individual events.</p><p></p><p>As for the two-woman bobsled, Elana Meyers Taylor and Sylvia Hoffman sit in third after two runs, with fellow American duo Kaillie Humphries and Kaysha Love two spots behind them. Meyers Taylor has two silvers and a bronze in the event. </p><p></p><p>In the final event on the figure skating program, the U.S. pairs have a shot to medal.
