Speaking to The Indian Express last month, Rathod had said he was not even aware about the shelter's existence and that the documents used to register the NGO were obtained by Pawar from him on some other pretext.
The GRP has recorded the statement of the girl after which an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act has been registered.
