A large number of devotees flooded the four Masi streets in Madurai to witness the chariot festival of the Meenakshi Amman Temple on the 11th day of the annual Chithirai festival in Tamil Nadu s Madurai on Wednesday.
The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed two separate petitions seeking an order to the authorities to ensure that the COVID-19 guidelines are followed and basic amenities are provided to the public during the upcoming Madurai Chithirai festival later in the month.
Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister V. Senthil Balaji said on Wednesday that an inquiry commission has been constituted to investigate the Kalimedu incident in which 11 people were electrocuted and 13 grievously injured after the top of a temple .
