Elk in the Arbuckles? Wildlife Department may relocate elk to the mountain range

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is exploring the idea of reestablishing an elk herd in the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma.
State wildlife officials are thinking about reestablishing an elk herd on the western region of the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation recently sent surveys to landowners across the state asking for their opinions on the idea.
We are just talking about it and looking into it, said Micah Holmes, assistant chief of information and education for the Wildlife Department. There are plenty of questions we want to get answered first. ....
