Hello and welcome to Bbc News. The head of Pakistans Spy Agency has visited afghanistan amid continued uncertainty about how the taliban proposes to rule the country. General Faiz Hameed is thought to be advising the military which is continuing its efforts to oust the resistance in the Panjshir Valley. The taliban have insisted all factions will be included in the new government, though its not yet clear how that will work. Our South Asia Correspondent danjohnson reports. The Chief Executive of one of Prince Charles charities, the Princes Foundation has temporarily stepped down following claims that he helped secure an honourfor a major donor. Two british newpapers, The Sunday Times and the mail on sunday, allege that Michael Fawcett used his influence to assist a Saudi Businessman. Mr fawcett was, until 2003, the princes valet. Heres our royal correspondent, jonny dymond. Michael fawcett was once one of Prince Charles closest aides, a man whom the prince relied upon to guide and organise his personal life. Three years ago, he became Chief Executive of the Princes Foundation an Umbrella Group for a number of Prince Charles charitable interests. Newspaper reports allege that Mr Fawcett offered to assist a wealthy saudi national and major donor to the prince s foundation with citizenship and with an honour. We begin in afghanistan where the Resistance Leader Ahmad massoud says he is ready for Peace Talks to end fighting in the pansjhir valley. The Northern Province of panjshir is two hours from the capital kabul, and is now the only region not controlled by the taliban. They claim they have reached panjshir s provincial capital, after securing the surrounding districts. But massouds national Resistance Front disputes this. Posting on facebook, Mr Massoud said that to reach a lasting peace, the nrf is ready to stop fighting on condition that taliban also stop their attacks and military movements on panjshir and andarab, a district in a neighboring province. Its not clear if the taliban are likely to agree to the truce proposal. In islamabad is pakistani journalist and analyst, haroon rashid. We begin in afghanistan where taliban fighters are trying to seize the Panjeer Valley North of kabul, home to antitaliban forces, the only territory not under taliban control. Fresh fighting was reported On Saturday with both sides claiming successes. Now Cnn Cant independently verify the accuracy of those reports. In the capital where ordinary afghans have been starved for cash, the largest Currency Exchange Market reopened saturday for the first time in nearly three weeks. Even banks that are open are limiting withdrawals. And theres word the Kabul Airport has resumed some operations. Qatars ambassador said he witnessed the first domestic flight taking off On Saturday.
