Many locals may know of or may have driven or walked past the ‘Captain John Mackay, Memorial Clock’ in Victoria Street, but how many of us are aware of its history.
The clock, in memory of Captain John Mackay, for whom the City of Mackay is named, was a ‘sponsored project’ by the Australian Natives Association – Mackay Branch.
