Americans across the country are mourning the loss of john conyers today, but nowhere is his loss felt so deeply than here in the Judiciary Committee where he sfefserved for more th0 years as a member of the committee including 20 years either as chairman or Ranking Member. John conyers was a true champion for civil rights for the oppressed and disenfranchised. Prior to the service in congress, he was in the Civil Rights Movement and was in selma, alabama, in 1963.
