The NCAA Division I Council on Wednesday approved a smaller window during which football and basketball players can enter their names into the transfer portal and still be eligible to play at a new school the following season.
The NCAA Division I Board of Directors directed the Division I Council to develop proposals to improve the environment for student-athletes engaging in name, image and likeness activities in college sports. The board met virtually earlier this month.
