Example. evacuations went into effect at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. we were on the beach here across the cause way. we were there on the beach and the conversations that we had with people despite the evacuations that are mandatory, people said they were going to stick it out. we were driving around this community. what was sticking out to me is how few of the businesses had taken precautions to board up. yesterday we did a lye shot in front of a business that faced the beach. much of the business was glass. they hadn t deployed shutters. that changed in the hours after we were there. as we were leaving we saw people starting to take precautions. this concerns emergency management officials. you re putting their lives in danger when you don t evacuate. people say they will stick it out. don t mess around with mother nature. thanks so much. nick on the ground.
