Hanover boys tennis (5-2) won its third straight match, this time a 6-3 overtaking of Alvirne on the road. HHS went 5-1 in singles matches. Junior Evan Yang (8-3), junior Kevin Pillsbury (8-5), sophomore Zhiwen Liu (8-2), senior Alex Stevens (8-3), and junior Charlie Birkmeyer (8-0) emerged victorious. Hanover head coach Jarrod Shaheen spoke highly of Alvirne’s sportsmanship before praising his team’s performance. “Evan had no trouble taking a win at the top of the ladder, and Kevin played a hard-fought match that was back and forth until he pulled away at the end.
