In a briefing on Thursday, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles confirmed that the President has accepted the resignation of Nayong Pilipino Foundation Executive Director Lucille Karen Malilong-Isberto.
“It was a resignation that was submitted and the president accepted it. It was as simple as that,” Nograles said when asked to expound on Isberto’s fate.
The cabinet secretary further said he is unaware of the details on why the President accepted NPF’s official’s resignation.
“So it was just a resignation and it was accepted. But, as far as asking for an explanation or anything like that, not to my knowledge,” he said.

I don’t know under what particular details it was accepted. There’s a resignation from the Nayong Pilipino director and it was accepted by the President, Nograles said in a television interview.
Nograles was referring to NPF executive director Lucille Karen Malilong-Isberto, who earlier expressed opposition to the project.
Nograles said the project will push through. In every aspect of the project, nandiyan ang DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources). Wala namang mga environmental concerns. It’s a reclaimed land, it is not being utilized, it seemed like an appropriate site in terms of accessibility. Wala namang tatamaan na mga puno diyan, he said.

Nayong Pilipino Foundation that chose its site for the planned mega vaccine center.
In an interview with ANC’s Headstart on May 13, Razon, director of the International Container Terminal Services Incorporated, said Nayong Pilipino’s location is accessible to the public and was therefore chosen as the venue for the vaccine facility.
The foundation previously said the construction would require nearly 500 trees to be cut down. The move would kill one of Metro Manila’s last green forest ecosystems at Nayong Pilipino the current management said as it opposed the project.
