NEWTOWN â The Board of Selectmen, meeting Monday, December 7, unanimously endorsed the recommendations made by the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee.
First Selectman Dan Rosenthal noted that the selectmen had delayed action on the recommendations until a series of public meetings were held to gather feedback on those recommendations, specifically the idea of including a housing component on campus
A question regarding housing was included on the recent November ballot; voters approved the use.
The board also accepted a proposed amendment to the Fairfield Hills Adaptive Reuse Zone.
George Benson, director of planning, explained that zoning regulations cannot anticipate what would be proposed for the campus.
