Google Cloud names former Amway exec head of its CPG unit

Google Cloud has named former Amway executive Giusy Buonfantino as vice president of its consumer packaged goods business. Buonfantino, the former chief digital and marketing officer at Amway, will report to Lori Mitchell-Keller, who joined Google Cloud in May. Buonfantino will lead the consumer packaged goods (CPG) strategy and has also had stints at Kimberly-Clark and Johnson & Johnson.

Thomas Kurian became Google Cloud s CEO in January 2019, and the company has been on an executive hiring spree ever since. At least five newly-minted Google Cloud executives hired this year were longtime veterans at SAP, who bring their experience in serving large business customers. That s a crucial skill set, as Google Cloud taps their expertise to help catch up with leading competitors Amazon Web Services and Microsoft. Google Cloud made a key hire last year when it brought on Robert Enslin, who spent nearly three decades at SAP, as its cloud sales president.
