A SURVEY is being carried out at Llyn Eigiau as part of plans to increase its water capacity. RWE Innogy is undertaking a study to better understand the viability of the proposal to increase the capacity of Llyn Eigiau to prevent spilling during heavy rain. The company has forecasted the effects of different measures, including increasing the flow capacity of the tunnel from Eigiau to Cowlyd. It is believed this measure would reduce the average spill by half. Janet Finch-Saunders, MS for Aberconwy who is campaigning for a regional and national plan to tackle significant flooding events, said the new study is good news for residents in the Conwy Valley.
