i m fredricka whitfield. the u.s. is fast approaching the roll-out of a second vaccine against covid-19 approved by the fda for emergency use. right now, a cdc subcommittee is discussing the moderna vaccine in these final steps before doses could be administered as early as monday. if the cdc director robert redfield gives the okay, the u.s. would be the first country in the world administering two vaccines. an extraordinary accomplishment. but that hope is tempered by the persistent reality of this crisis. a key model now projects 562,000 americans could die by april. we re consistently seeing record cases, deaths and hospitalizations every metric, every week. so right now, on a saturday, congress is working. they are trying to finally deliver a covid relief bill to an american public in desperate need. congressional leaders say they have been close for a while now but sticking points remain and new ones keep emerging. so as it pertains to the promise of a new second vaccine
