2008. water got into the county s old facility, prompting the move to hubbard ice. now that the city s planning to tear this building down in the next year, the files will journey three miles south. this is the new space. it may look big, but officials say it s going to fill up really fast. there s 10-thousand square feet here. even so, once all the files are in place there will only be room for a handful of additional boxes. it ll be that crowded. it s a not a lot of room for growth at the new spot. we ve gone electronic. we don t have new files that have to continue to go over, so that s ok. it just makes it tight when you re moving stuff in, trying to organize it. in the end, it ll take about two weeks to get this project done. the county has a 10 year lease at the newest facility. that s got the county clerk smiling. this will be the last move for me. in cedar rapids, forrest saunders, kcrg-tv9 news. the county pays about 50-grand each year to rent more, 54-thou
