AN innovative music charity that “gives children hope” in Govanhill is marking its eight anniversary in the South Side community. Big Noise Govanhill was set up to teach stringed instruments to pupils in the area’s four primary schools. And since then it has grown to include brass and woodwind instruments and teach pupils at secondary level. Youngsters now have the chance to work with professionals from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. The anniversary is made even more special by the fact face-to-face teaching has restarted following pandemic closures.
