outside a gas station tonight, when someone jumped into the drivers seat and took off. the abduction happened near 59th and good hope. police found the little boy safe several blocks away, at 39th & silver spring. terry sater joins us now live from the gas station where this all started. still a lot of questions, terry. terry: absolutely. the baby s family went from despair to pure joy in a matter of seconds when they heard one-year-old taratino carter had been found about four miles from here. this happened earlier tonight when the mother had her son in a car seat in the backseat and stopped at the a&s gas and convenience store and went inside. she left her car running and and drove off with her baby in the backseat shortly before 6:00. she called for help and police issued an amber alert. roughly two and a half hours later a caller had found the baby and car. milwaukee police department with a lot of gratitude at this point. you know, because this baby you know it could h
unsettling. wisn 12 news tim elliott spoke with one resident who lives directly below the crime scene. it s a little scary. normally this is quiet nice little normal neighborhood, so it is a little startling. adam burg lives below the unit where police found the woman s body. there are two upstairs and two lower units. i live in the back lower unit. officers knocked on his door in the middle of the night. they wanted to know if he had hearyt he was asleep. everybody in the building kind of keeps to themselves. i really don t know anyone else in the building. shortly after milwaukee police cleared this block and traffic was allowed through, dpw crews showed up and boarded up the front door. they don t want anyone getting into the crime scene. it s a safe block. it s a safe area. i mean i don t have any problem walking around. john mesch and his girlfriend live next door. when they woke up and saw police out front, they knew something was wrong. we came outside this
and i knew our water bill had just been paid. still, sue dufek had a moment of panic when she opened this letter from her mortgage holder, wells fargo. that s right, which i knew, it just shot right through me because that is not our style. i mean, everything is paid. but there were the words, outstanding property charges, on letter with her name and account number. i thought that we were the only ones. i really thought that this had just come to us. but when she went to city hall with her concerns about the letter, she quickly discovered she wasn t alone. the south milwaukee ea half-dozen homeowners had called about the same letter. it happened in milwaukee too, and also wawautosa, where the city posted this alert on its website. this is a huge mistake on somebody s part. somebody at wells fargo. in a statement to wisn-12 news, the company admitted it s error and apologized, saying 3300 customers were incorrectly notified that their real estate taxes were delin
