Driver who hit Limestone County student cited for reckless driving, passing a school bus

A student was hit by a vehicle while loading the bus on Nick Davis Road in Limestone County.

Update: Alabama State Troopers say the student was hit by a 2014 Honda Accord driven by a juvenile. The driver was given traffic citations for reckless driving and passing a school bus.

The Limestone County School System released this information Thursday morning:
At approximately 7:25 a.m. Thursday, a female student at East Limestone High School was hit by a passing vehicle while boarding a school bus. The incident occurred at the intersection of Nick Davis Road and Twin Drive. The student was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
