The 2020-2021 season started out with plenty of promise for us Blazers fans, mainly because of the offseason acquisitions of Robert Covington, Derrick Jones Jr., and Derrick Jones Jr. (in addition to the jettisoning of Mario Hezonja). Combine that with a healthy Nurkic and Collins, and we had plenty of hope for the season ahead. And for some time, it seemed like these hopes were legitimate, as CJ blossomed before our eyes into a clear All-Star candidate. But just as quickly, the injury woes that have dogged us in years past came back again, as Zach, Nurkic, AND CJ went down with injuries, depleting the roster. Now, the Blazers are in a familiar position: Battling to hold ground in the standings.
