While some concerns over landscaping and the aesthetics of a new building to be constructed on the site remain to be hammered out, a 20-unit development that includes the rehabilitation of an historic school building in Warren has received Master Plan approval.
As Warren looks to finalize its first update to its Comprehensive Plan since 2003, it does so amidst an environment where new housing developments will continue to be one of the top issues to watch in Town.
A win for historic preservation advocates; the rebirth of a theater left for dead; an unprecedented investment in the local schools; the discovery of an historic window significant enough for the Smithsonian to come to town; and a looming financial bombshell whose impact is still to be determined.
Lannan said he couldn’t be more specific about how many of the 25 planned units could potentially be reduced or how much of a reduction on the size of the building could be done until his team ran more calculations.
