The Zoom opening ceremony starts at 10 a.m. Play from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Winners will be announced on Zoom at 1:45 p.m. There will be Amazon gift card prizes for first, second and third place winners as well as a 50/50 raffle. Facebook Share On the morning of July 30, 1916, one of the largest artificial non-nuclear explosions took place in Jersey City when German saboteurs destroyed a U.S. munitions depot on Black Tom Island. Playwright Martin Casella’s “Black Tom Island,” based on the actual incident and seen through the lens of a fictionalized Slovak immigrant and his wife, who may or may not have been involved in the attack, has now been adapted into a radio play by Art House Productions and is available for download.
