centennial of the 19th advancement. using images of the early suffrage leaders, miss lemay shows how the movement intersected with the abolitionist and temperance movements. this is the first ever to port program. hi everyone. welcome to the national portraits keller at the smithsonian institution. i m kate clarke lemay, and i m the director of a project of persistence. for this exhibition i worked about three and a half years researching, teaching myself the history and find myself all of the objects. in the exhibition we had about 124 objects, of which there are 64 portraits and in curating the exhibition i was hoping to commemorate the 19th amendment and tell the history of the 19th amendment and have women lobbied to get the amendment passed and ratified. and also ask questions about it, what does it, do and what does it not do. and why the voting rights act is considered part two of the 19th amendment. so if you will follow me i will take you through the exhibition, and
it s tough to really stipulate what happened today because there were so many different agencies involved in the pursuit. reporter: a stolen car was towed from the third bore of the call to got tunnel. standing by, a group of tourists who found themselves caught in the middle of a wild police chase and crash that started in antioch. there was a suspect who was driving a stolen vehicle who intently hit two other police officers. that was the original call that we heard so we got in our cars and came over here to set up a spike strip. reporter: the search snarled traffic as police responded well and chopper surged above. were the police officers that were hit sent to the hospital? i have not received any kind of updates. i did hear that their condition is stable. reporter: it is believed the police officers were hit prior to the tunnel in the area of 680. police using different radio frequencies had challenges when the suspect raced into the tunnel. then we heard
