variant here? i don t think we know yet, wolf. i ve been talking to lots of folks about this. there s a couple of critical questions that need to be answered. is this more transmissible? does it spread more easily than the delta variant? and does it escape some of the protection from vaccines. so far it looks like the vaccines are holding up pretty well, but when you look at south africa and the trajectory of what s happened over there over these different phases, that middle peak there beta, that became the dominant strain in south africa in october and going into march. but it did not become the dominant strain here. so that s a data point again. so we still don t know but if lew ye you look at the far right of the screen when omicron began to increase in numbers in south africa, there wasn t a lot it was competing with here in the united states and around the world. delta is still circulating quite robustly. it would have to compete against
