brutally murdered. it s a terrible story. we ll prevail. i m looking forward to the court and getting everything out there into the public. reporter: green s body was discovered a few weeks after the killing and li was arrested at hermanntion in late may of 2016. she has been if jail until posting a record $35 million bail. the amount is too large for traditional bail companies so a combination of millions in cash and real estate was used. between family and 20 of family and friends raised the bail amount. wouldn t you feel good about being released. i would rather be here than in jail. reporter: it s a different set of emotions for green. this day didn t come as a surprise, but still, shock and disbelief, despite the severity of charges, li walked out of jail. it s an extraordinary situation in san mateo county. we ve not experienced this before. money can get you all sorts of things. nothing seems right about it at all. it s a very difficult time for the family.
tonight students are being warned to be vigilant. both of those incidents happened just 20 minutes apart in the same area on escondido road. ktvu azenith smith is live with the latest. azenith, both women in these cases describe the same suspect? reporter: police tell me they are reinterviewing the women. give these a given these assaults happened right in front of the dorms. reporter: police are making their presence known near escondido road following two groping incidents on campus friday night. it s always pretty horrible to hear about. and i know it because i live right down there happening pretty close too. reporter: the sophomore lives near this place. the suspect is still on the loose. it s a little scary thinking they could be just like a student in one of my classes. like you never know. reporter: police have released limited information about the assaults. their first one happened friday night at 10:40 in the evening on escondido road. a man groped a w
log. sounds like they got that taken care of. you don t have to worry about that if if you re getting on to the bridge. time now is 4:30. let s go back to the desk. thank you. a marin county sheriff s deputy is recovering after a suspected drunk driver ran head on into his patrol car. it happened in mill valley in front of the fireside inn on shoreline highway. the other driver lost control going around a curve then collided with the deputy s car. the deputy went to a hospital with minor injuries. investigators arrested 34-year- old justin satterfield who now faces dui charges. in san jose, one person died in a suspected dui crash early yesterday morning. witnesses told police that a lexus driver was speeding on southbound 280 when he hit another car. that car overturned. the person inside was not seriously injured. then the lex suss hit a honda that burst into flames and the driver was seriously hurt and he could not get out. this was a rather spectacular collision.
