Ricardo rossello and male members of his staff, made homophobic and sexist comments in Group Chat Messages which were obtained by the Puerto Rico Center for Investigative Journalism and they include more than 900 pages of messages including one that joked about the bodies of Hurricane Maria victims of the morgue. The governor apologized for the messages. But Puerto Ricans say the latest scandal was just the final straw after suffering through years of fiscal mismanagement, severe cuts to public education, and the aftermath of maria. Well, ive been going to the nihonmachi street fair for years and it never ceases to amaze me how it remains a traditional event of fun while constantly evolving. Being called the original melting pot of street fairs really fits. And joining me to explain how is longtime friend of the show, richard jue, the Board Chairman of the nihonmachi street fair. And also with us is a committee member, justin butac. Welcome to the show. Melting pot is a good description, right . Richard jue absolutely. Robert give us an idea, first of all, a little history for people who dont know it, when the nihonmachi street fair started, what it kind of started out as, and how its evolved. Richard well, it started out initially in 1973 withwe had a Cherry Blossom that just displayed the businesses. So, nihonmachi street fair developed from that way to display the nonprofit organizations of the city. ....
