"The Nutcracker Suite & Spicy" has filled a storefront on Trumbull Street with sets and screens, and is performing excerpts from the local holiday favorite Thursday through Sunday until the end of December. There is also a streaming version of the full-length show, and a documentary about its creation, streaming for free online this month.

La MaMa has announced programming for February 2021, which will stream live on LaMaMa.org before becoming available on demand. This month will feature two LiveTalks, one with Stefanie Batten Bland that centers on casting and one with Resident Artists Murielle Borst-Tarrant, Yoshiko Chuma, Shauna Davis, and Tarish Pipkins a.k.a. Jeghetto; two Café La MaMa Lives, one featuring a multi-dimensional science-fiction fairytale puppetry musical written and directed by Charlotte Lily Gaspard and one showcasing some of the work Resident Artists Timothy White Eagle, Justin Hicks, and Joshua William Gelb & Katie Rose McLaughlin / Theater in Quarantine have been working on; Coffeehouse Chronicles Revisited #131: Mabou Mines, in honor of Lee Breuer

BILLINGS â We all know the music, know the moves, know that Christmas isnât quite Christmas without the Nutcracker.
But COVID-19 has brought live theater to a screeching halt. The Alberta Bair canât host its customary Nutcracker performances, so Billingsâ School for Classical Ballet is stepping in with four live online shows this weekend on a make-shift studio stage at the Montana Dance Center.
âWeâre really lucky that we have this really big room, said Leigh Schanfein, one of the show s performers, who also serves as a co-director and choreographer. Itâs really comfortable, weâre very familiar with it. We already know the floor. We donât have the grandeur of a theater and all the fun that comes with that, but this is also a pretty darn good alternativ
