Middle District of Alabama U.S. Attorney Louis V. Franklin Sr. retired Friday after three decades of public service in the state.
Franklin joins multiple U.S. Attorneys across the country retiring today, or in recent days, which is standard following a presidential election where a Republican president succeeds a Democratic one, or vice versa. U.S. Attorneys are appointed positions. Richard Moore, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama, announced his retirement, effective today, earlier this week.
