Hong Kong boxer Tso targets Paris 2024 after COVID-19 wrecks Tokyo dream Friday, 14 May 2021
Hong Kong boxer Rex Tso has targeted the Paris 2024 Olympics after his bid to compete at Tokyo 2020 was dashed by coronavirus.
The 33-year-old, who enjoyed a perfect 22-fight record as a professional between 2011 and 2017, is now competing in the amateur ranks.
He wanted to enter the final Olympic qualifier for Tokyo 2020 which was due to be held in Paris in June, but the event was scrapped in February.
It means places at the Games will be assigned according to the world rankings instead and Tso, who has only fought sporadically since leaving professional boxing, does not have a high enough position.
