Courtney Couch Anderson served as a deputy with the Lane County Sheriff s office for seven years. Credit Lane County Sheriff Courtney Couch Anderson was paddle boarding with her family. She attempted to help a child and slipped into the water. Anderson was not wearing a life jacket. Other swimmers were able to find her and pull her to the surface. She was taken to Lebanon Community Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office put out a statement mourning the loss of their deputy who’d been with the agency for seven years. The Linn County Sheriff is investigating the incident. ....

At around 6:30am, a candle placed on a stool in the living area fell and lit the blanket of Leighman ablaze. The fire quickly transferred to her feet, causing multiple significant burns. The room was completely covered with black smoke. I couldn t see anything. Not even my hands in front of my face, Cunningham said. She was aided by the screams of the nearby neighbors who were attempting to give directions from the outside. ....
LEBANON, Ore. - A woman trapped inside a burning RV broke out a window and escaped with the help of a neighbor Wednesday morning, the Lebanon Fire District said. A 40-year-old woman and her 9-year-old daughter also suffered burns escaping from the fire. Firefighters say the RV erupted in flames after a candle left burning overnight started the 30-foot motorhome on fire. The call went out reporting the fire on River Road in Lebanon at 6:28 a. m.. ....
