During this daily 30-minute period, students are assigned to small groups to work on the math skills where they need the most help, or they may dig deeper into reinforcing what they’ve already learned. There is also a 40-minute WIN Time for reading. More than an hour of every day at Lincoln Elementary School is WIN Time, Principal Misty Straub said.

Summer professional development offered to teachers of USD 428 GBMS Robotics Club receive $1,000 donation Great Bend USD 428 Director of Teaching and Learning Tricia Reiser has worked with the district’s teaching coaches to design and offer a wide variety of summer courses for teachers. “We did a survey and asked staff what (classes) they want us to provide,” Reiser told the school board on Monday. Training will be available during the afternoons in June, which will allow staff to take part in the summer school programs in the morning.

USD 428 plans preschool addition School board presents ROSE award The ROSE (Recognizing Outstanding Support of Education) award was presented to Kylee Graves and Buzz Birney at Monday’s Board of Education meeting. Shown presenting the award is Director of Teaching and Learning Tricia Reiser. Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education members heard a plan Monday to add a preschool in the Eisenhower Elementary School neighborhood. The proposal is still in the planning phase but the board gave its preliminary approval.
