The University of Arizona announced the creation of a new mobile crisis team with the goal of deescalating tense situations and providing mental health services, an expanded keyless building entry program and campuswide safety exercises during President Robert C. Robbins virtual University Safety Briefing on Friday.
During a briefing Friday morning, Steve Patterson, the university's interim chief safety officer, said he will read all reports of threatening incidents. President Robert C. Robbins also detailed administrative and physical changes designed to improve campus safety and security.
COVID-19 testing and vaccinations remain available on campus for students and employees. Anyone traveling for spring break should get tested before and after the trip, President Robert C. Robbins said.
