COVID hospitalizations continue to climb; more getting shots

New Mexico’s vaccination pace is accelerating again after a mid-summer slump welcome news, health care providers say, as hospitals handle a surge in COVID-19 patients. Vaccinations statewide shot up 30 percent recently, compared to a corresponding period last month, according to the state Department of Health. SANTA FE – As the delta variant fuels another explosion in cases, Human Services Secretary David Scrase urged New Mexicans – regardless of whether they’re vaccinated – to get tested if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.
