The storm caused severe havoc in many areas last night, and the country’s rescue teams had their hands full. Most calls involved issues related to the wind, but there was also a search for a team of four people in the highlands on Laugavegur.
The South Iceland Police have decided to lift all road closures due to the ongoing glacial outburst flood in Skaftá river. However, there is still a risk of gas pollution at Skaftá and so people are warned to stay near its banks.
