Crash closes Route 4 in Harwinton

HARWINTON Route 4 has been closed at Lead Mine Brook Road after a crash involving a construction vehicle, fire officials said Friday.
The crash was first reported shortly after 2 p.m., according to the Department of Transportation.
The Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department said in a Facebook post the road had been closed between Woodland Drive and Leadmine Brook Road.
The accident involved wires down on a payloader, according to the post. Drivers were detoured through Spring Hill Road and Lake Harwinton Road.
Eversource crews were also called to the scene, and fire officials warned that power could shut off in the area to let the utility personnel work.
