A coalition of civil society organisations on Wednesday protested against the dilapidating condition of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. The protesters displayed placards bearing messages such as: "We need good road," "Grade Lagos Abeokuta expressway now," "Our road is now a death trap" and many more. One of the coordinators told SaharaReporters the poor state of the road had caused many accidents, some of them fatal.
A Bus Rapid Transit on Tuesday morning was involved in an accident which occurred on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. This was seen in a video uploaded on X platform (formerly Twitter) by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, which revealed that the accident occurred in front of Conoil at Valley Estate, inward Ile Zik on Lagos Abeokuta Expressway.
