A local prep football standout, who has been heavily recruited over the last year, has obviously put his scheduled commitment date on hold, after receiving an offer from yet another SEC school over the weekend.
Jordan Allen, a defensive back who currently attends Lafayette Christian Academy, shared on social media over the weekend that he has been extended an offer by Tennessee.
Earlier this month, Andrew Ivins of 247Sports reported Allen had planned to announce his college commitment on Saturday, March 13, which of course has now passed.
Ivins reported that Miami, Georgia, Mississippi St., South Carolina, Penn St., and Arkansas were the schools that Allen is still considering.
LCA Knights Fall in Semifinals
The 2020-2021 high school basketball season came to a disappointing end for the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights on Tuesday night.
6th-seeded Lafayette Christian Academy fell to the second-seeded Dunham Tigers, 45-28, in the Division III semifinals of the Louisiana Boys Basketball State Championship at the Cajundome.
The difference in the game was the fourth quarter, as Dunham broke open a tie game going into the last frame, outscoring LCA, 20-3, in the final quarter, to capture the triumph.
LCA advanced to the semifinals by capturing a 53-35 road win over the Notre Dame Pioneers in the quarterfinal round
LCA Wins Fourth-Straight State Title
For the fourth consecutive year, and for the second-straight at their current level, the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights are state champions.
5th-seeded LCA won the Division III state title for the second-straight year, defeating the second-seeded St. Charles Catholic Comets, 12-7, at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
LCA, paying without all-state performer and LSU commitment Sage Ryan, held the St. Charles offense out of the end zone the entire game, as they went on to the win.
The Knight defense, which held Catholic High-New Iberia and Isodore Newman to seven points apiece over their first two playoff games, only allowed St. Charles into the red zone once in the entire game.
