Jimmy Anderson, today announced proposed legislation to provide the attorney general of Wisconsin with the authority to investigate and bring civil causes of action in instances in which civil rights violations are alleged to have occurred. “We must ensure that, for every Wisconsinite, our civil rights are more than simply rights on paper,” said Attorney General Kaul. “This legislation would significantly enhance the protection of our rights by authorizing the Wisconsin Department of Justice to take action when significant violations occur.” “All too often people of color are denied equal opportunity and protection under the law,” said Sen.
