A group of 18 young Red Ruby Devon cattle went for a five mile adventure on Monday evening (March 30) and walked along Cornwall s longest tunnel. They broke through two fences before trekking along the haul road, formerly the railway line from Par docks to Fowey docks used by the china clay industry. The excited cows were undeterred on coming to Pinnock tunnel, Cornwall’s longest tunnel, and made their way through it on their way towards Par. Farmer and butcher, James Kittow, is the fifth generation of the Kittow family to tend to the land and supply the community with meats from Kilhallon Farm near Par since 1880.
