New apartment block plan for Maidenhead High Street

Artists impression of how new block will look if permission is given Plans for a new landmark 108 apartment block in Maidenhead High Street have been submitted to Royal Borough planners. The new building by developers Sorbon Estates will cover numbers 106 to 114 in the High Street close to the Castle Hill roundabout and A4 Bad Godesberg Way. It will offer a view of Kidwells Park along with 102 car parking spaces. Sorbon has already successfully completed the conversion of the offices above the historic old High Street Post Office into six contemporary apartments. The proposed new landmark apartment building will link the two together, keeping the original facades but with new entrances from both the High Street and West Street. The original ground floor Post Office will be made available for commercial use and the development will restore that original property to the way it used to look, by demolishing the two storey 1980s office extension.
