live from the cbs bay area studios. this is kpix 5 news. tonight the state has a new plan to start executing criminals again. we re outside san quentin tonight. andrea? reporter: 60 inmates have exhausted their appeal and would be eligible to be put to death if california moves forward with a new plan to begin lethal injections once again. scott peterson, richard allen davis, kerry taylor and 743 others call california s death row home. the last execution at san quentin happened in 2006. after that the three drug cocktail was deemed inhumane by a judge. a suit was filed that forced them to come up with a new way to perform lethal injections. this was the protocol that we needed the cdc are to establish. they should have done it years ago but thank god we finally have it. david crawford from death penalty focus has a new plan won t lead to clear the backlog of killers. we have more court scrutiny, more legal cases and ultimately executions don t resume. the pl
