live, where you live, this is abc 7 news. a violent night across some cities across the u.s. as live anti-trump protests break out. good evening, i m eric thomas, there were also protests here in the bay area for the fifth straight night, but they have been largely peaceful. let s talk to sergio quintana. reporter: eric so far there has been no violence or vandalism tonight. we have actually monitored a couple of different groups, one in oakley and berkeley, and one tried to get onto a couple of different freeways tonight. this group of demonstrators headed towards the i-90 ramps in downtown, but they were met with california patrol officers. they have been loud and fast moving, but much smaller than past nights. for some local business owners the demonstrations are putting them in a tough light. a lot of the demonstrators come from oakland, so just because the demonstrations stop, doesn t mean it won t affect us. reporter: customers often stay away for months after p
